"I wasn't sure what to expect, I have to admit. Some likely didn't notice, but I did pick up on it. Joe Elliott wasn't hitting the notes when I saw Martin Phillips for the first time in 2005 and while I was very excited to see him live.
Joe's voice was on par this time, however, they did not disappoint! Vivian was rocking out, nice to see considering his medical condition that had someone filling in for him in June. The guitar/bass/drum work was superb. You could tell they were enjoying themselves - smiling, working the crowd, etc. I'm excited to hear their new album.
Overall, a great set list in my opinion. There's a couple songs I would've liked to hear that they didn't play. Would definitely like to see them again!
Also, Tesla did an excellent job as opening act. I'm not as familiar with their newer songs, but they did play some 'classics'. You could tell they were having a great time and they sounded good. I'm going to check them out now that I've heard more.
